Vaccines for Children (VFC): 

We give free routine childhood immunizations to infants and children (through 18 years of age) who:

  • Do not have insurance that pays for immunizations, or
  • Have Medical Assistance or BadgerCare, or
  • Are Native American or Alaska Native.

If your child has insurance that pays for immunizations, please call their provider.

 

Current VFC vaccines offered include: 

  • COVID-19
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Hib
  • HPV
  • Influenza (School-based)
  • Meningitis
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella)
  • Pneumonia
  • Polio
  • Rotavirus
  • RSV
  • Tetanus (Tdap) 
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)

Vaccines for Adult (VFA):

We give free immunizations to adults who:

  • Are 19 years and older, and
  • Do not have insurance that pays for immunizations.

Currently, the ICHD is able to give out free Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccines regardless of insurance status. 

 

Current VFA vaccines offered include: 

  • Influenza (flu)
  • Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis)
  • HPV (human papilloma virus) 
  • Hepatitis A 
  • Hepatitis B
  • Meningitis
  • MMR (measles, mumps and rubella)
  • Varicella (chickenpox)

We do NOT offer these to adults 19 or older:

  • Travel vaccines
  • Shingles/zoster
  • RSV 
  • Polio
  • COVID

How can I schedule an appointment?

Please call us to schedule an appointment at 608-930-9870 or email us at healthinfo@iowacounty.org. If possible, bring all the immunization records that you have to the appointment.

 

Daycare requirements

To protect children from diseases. Wisconsin requires some immunizations for school and daycare.

 

School requirements

All students through grade 12 are required to have certain immunizations based on their grade and age.

 

Immunizations for Travel:

Going somewhere? Prepare BEFORE you go, as far in advance as possible. Learn what immunizations and medications you might need at CDC Destinations. Ask your doctor or look in the Wisconsin Immunization Registry to see what you've already had. If you have health insurance that pays for travel immunizations, call your clinic and ask where to go for a travel clinic appointment.
